Housecall Pro (HP) is an all-in-one software app for home service businesses. Their target audience are both home service providers –including business owners, independent contractors and blue collar workers in the plumbing, HVAC, Carpet/window cleaning, electrical industries and housekeeping– as well as it’s customers. The client sought a revamp of their current business site in order to grow its customer base and have a strong sustainable business model.
In the software world, apps are continually evolving in order to remain fresh and relevant. I approached this project by first getting into the mindset of the business owner we are aiming to appeal. What are they looking for? In a nutshell, they want to win more jobs, get paid faster, and deliver great service in a time efficient manner. I communicated HP's ability to deliver by identifying a design opportunities such as introducing a modern sans-serif typefaces such as Gotham, and vibrant reliable complimentary colors, as well as voicing social proof through testimonials, awards and an emotion-grabbing video or a client's success story.
I provided two distinct personas within the targeted range in order to ensure the brand and website design continuously appealed to all demographics they intend to reach. In this instance, one is the worker for the business owner who utilizes the website and app, the other is the local business owner.
The main focus for this software site was for the software to appear easy to use and modern/updated, so as to attract both the business owner and the customer onto the platform.
Here I show how I begin to dissect the businesses’ landing page –in both desktop and mobile sizes –by services, about, deliverables, promises, demos, testimonials, and social proof.
To demonstrate the sites user friendly and technologically updated-ness, I selected bold complimentary colors, introduced interactive elements, new typefaces and iconography. To show exemplary service, I showcased glimpses of a clear and attractive dashboard for the app, and highlighted positive reviews through social proof with awards and client testimonials.
The client needed attractive banners designed in order to bring attention to their new look, including new typefaces, color use, images, as well as the catchy copywriting “Rise & boost our revenue by 25%.”
